Just a day after sending home Octavius Ellis due to “family emergency”, the Alaska Aces finally got a quick replacement after coming to terms with former Brooklyn Nets forward Cory Jefferson as their import for the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
“Yes, we are getting Cory Jefferson,” said Compton’s in a short response when asked about the Aces’ new import for the mid-season conference.
Listed at 6-foot-9, the 60th overall pick of San Antonio in the 2014 NBA Draft is coming off a solid stint with the Austin Toros, the Spurs’ affiliate team in the NBA D-League, assuring he’ll be in tip-top shape for an Aces side lacking size and heft down low.
The 218-pound Jefferson averaged 16.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in over 29 minutes of play for the Toros this season. – FOX Sports Asia
