If the NLEX Road Warriors wish to beat the mighty San Miguel, it might as well be now as the impossibility of doing it increases as the game progresses or for that matter as conference passes by.

According to Yeng Guiao, the 2018 Philippine Cup is the best time to hand the Beermen a stinging loss while another thorn in their side Christian Standhardinger is not yet on the San Miguel roster.

The Filipino-German sensation Standharinger is still reinforcing Hongkong Eastern in the ongoing ‎2017-2018 Asean Basketball League.

However, the 2017 top overall pick by San Miguel is anticipated to play in th Commissioner’s Cup where Guiao lamented his concerns.

With reigning four-time Most Valuable Player June Mae Fajardo at the helm, the Beeemen look to be still a formidable team and a cinch for a historic fourth straight All Filipino Cup.

So far, no team has yet to create a formula on how to beat SMB as the Beermen are the only team left unscathed in the Philippine Cup with 3-0 mark.

Guiao believes that the current SMB is already a huge hurdle for any team to overcome much more a Standhardinger-enforced Beermen in the second conference.

“Mas mahirap silang talunin next conference pag nandyan na si Standhardinger. So siguro all the teams stand their best chance of beating them now, and in the future, baka wala ng tumalo sa kanila,” said Guiao

NLEX tries to put an end to SMB’s unbeaten run 7:00pm tonight at the Cuneta Astrodome to snap their own two-game losing skid.
