Blackwater taps Henry Walker as replacement for injured Trevis Simpson

Blackwater has decided to replace its ailing import with a proven one.

The Elite’s original import, 25-year old Trevis Simpson, suffered a torn groin muscle in the team’s 2nd game of the conference. Simpson failed to finish the match against the Star Hotshots and Blackwater absorbed its 2nd straight defeat 86-103.

The 6-foot-4 native of Douglas, Georgia still suited up against Grand Slam-seeking San Miguel but was held scoreless in almost 10 minutes of playing time.

And in a bid to save its Governors’ Cup campaign, the team has decided to bring in a proven reinforcement, former Alaska and NLEX import Henry Walker.

Team manager Johnson Martinez confirmed this development and said the 29-year old Walker, who averaged 30.9 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals in his last stint with the Road Warriors, will arrive on Wednesday and suit up for their game against Rain or Shine on Sunday. – Mae Villarin
