Brgy. Ginebra posts back-to-back wins with 120-99 drubbing of KIA

It was a rare first game on a weekday for Barangay Ginebra which usually plays as the main game during Sundays but the Kings made sure that their fans who showed up early at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum would get the show they were expecting.

Ginebra drubbed the Kia Picanto, 120-99, to get their second victory in their title-retention bid in the 2017 Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup, Wednesday afternoon.

The Picanto simply did not have enough weapons to present a challenge to the defending champions. Ginebra built their first double-digit with 4:39 left in the first quarter, 17-6, off a basket from LA Tenorio and they never looked back from that point.

Ginebra’s lead ballooned to its highest at 34 points, 98-64, at the 9:33 after a bucket from Mark Caguioa who was named the Best Player of the Game.

The former PBA MVP finished with 16 points on 8 of 9 shooting from the field while playing less than 14 minutes. – Sports5
