After a brief battle in the early minutes, Barangay Ginebra hammered Columbian Dyip hard en route to a 134-107 victory that pushed the Gin Kings up to joint sixth place in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday night.
From ninth place, Ginebra jumped to joint sixth with the GlobalPort Batang Pier and the Magnolia Hotshots at 4-5 on their third straight victory.
Columbian Dyip, meanwhile, dropped to ninth at 4-6.
Justin Brownlee and the old Ginebra core players all played well, giving Cone the luxury of playing his shock-troopers in the fourth quarter.
Jeff Chan played 19 minutes in his first game as a Gin King, making four points all from the foul line.
Brownlee came up with 24 points and 10 rebounds and narrowly finished with a triple-double with seven errors.
Japeth Aguilar, Kevin Ferrer, LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson and Greg Slaughter added double-digit outputs.
