Brownlee explodes in the 3rd, powers Brgy. Ginebra to a 113-96 victory over winless GlobalPort

Justin Brownlee outscored the whole GlobalPort Batang Pier in the third quarter to lead Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to their first win, 113-96, in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Brownlee dropped 20 points in the third quarter alone, eclipsing the 17-point output of the whole GlobalPort squad in the same period to propel Ginebra’s second half breakaway.

He finished the game with 29 points, eight boards and seven assists as he bounced back from the team’s first outing where he was forced to exit the game due to cramps, leading to a loss by Ginebra against Phoenix in Davao.

LA Tenorio added 15 markers, while Sol Mercado, Kevin Ferrer and Japeth Aguilar each chipped in 13 points for the Gin Kings. –
