Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo fined P25K each for separate incidents

Alaska’s Calvin Abueva has been slapped a P25,000 fine by the league for flashing a dirty finger at the Technical Committee and at the same time slamming a chair near the said group during their knockout game against GlobalPort last June 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Abueva poured in a career-high 31 points but it wasn’t enough to tow the Aces to the next round as they lost the match by a point, 106-107.

Terrence Romeo was also slapped with the same amount for his closed-fist swipe at Brgy. Ginebra’s LA Tenorio during the closing minutes of their quarterfinals game last June 6.

Romeo was likewise seen uttering profanities aimed at Tenorio and at the predominantly Ginebra crowd.

The 25-year old native of Imus, Cavite scored 22 points but failed to lead his team past a determined Brgy. Ginebra squad who broke the game wide open in the 3rd period thanks to the exploits of hot-shooting import Justin Brownlee. – Mae Villarin
