The Cebu Niños are making a return to the country’s basketball scene through the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

The Niños will be bankrolled by Casino Active, a brand owned by International Pharmaceuticals, Inc. – one of the leading manufacturer and distributor of a diversified range of pharmaceutical and consumer products in the country.

Cebu is the 4th team from the South to confirm their participation in the 2nd conference of the fast-growing regional format league after the Davao Occidental Tigers, General Santos Warriors and the Zamboanga Valientes.

Former San Miguel Beermen and Letran player Gilbert Castillo will serve as the team’s head coach.

The team will initially be known as the Niños but management will still consult with Cebu officials regarding the moniker to be used during the tournament proper.
