San Miguel Beer import Charles Rhodes passed his initial test in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup with flying colors on Sunday night.
Taking over the starting 4-spot from one-time league MVP Arwind Santos, the former Mississippi State standout did well, piling up 22 points on 50 percent shooting from the field on top of 12 rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist against only a pair of errors in 33 minutes of play.
However, the Galveston, Texas native admitted he’s far from impressed with his initial showing as he needed to overcome foul woes early on.
“I’m pretty sure I’m going to have more blocks. I just got in foul trouble. I didn’t play in the second quarter and that was real frustrating for me. I just got to get adjusted to the style of play with the referees,” he said.
“I think next game, I’m going to have a much better game than I did tonight.” – FOX Sports Asia
