Chot Reyes announces 16-man lineup for 2017 William Jones Cup

Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes recently announced on social microblogging site Twitter the composition of the team that will participate in the 39th William Jones Cup which will be held on July 15 to 23 in Taiwan.

Bulk of the team were previously named to represent the country for the upcoming SEA Games. They are Kiefer Ravena, Kobe Paras, Raymar Jose, Mike Tolomia, Almond Vosotros, Von Pessumal, Kevin Ferrer, Carl Bryan Cruz and Fil-German Christian Standhardinger.

Added to the team were Jio Jalalon, Mac Belo, RR Pogoy, Ed Daquioag, Fonso Gotladera and Matthew Wright. Mike Myers, TNT’s back-up import in the recently concluded Commissioner’s Cup, will serve as the lone reinforcement.

Teams are allowed to have 16 players but can only field in a maximum of 12 during a game.

The Philippines, represented by Mighty Sports, bagged the title last year to improve its haul to 5. USA is the winningest team in the tournament with 15 titles. – Mae Villarin
