The consensus top pick of the upcoming PBA Rooke Draft is facing disqualification from the annual proceedings after failing to show up for Day 1 of the PBA Draft Combine.
Christian Standhardinger was the only one absent among the 44 rookie hopeful that took part in the event which is part of the requirements to be considered for the final list of applicants for the annual draft which will be held this coming Sunday, October 29 at Robinson’s Place Manila.
Standhardinger is currently under contract with the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions of the ASEAN Basketball League which is set to open on November 17 this year.
The PBA is now waiting for the 28-year old Fil-German to submit an excuse letter explaining why he wasn’t able attend the first day of the combine.
It can be recalled however that in 2014, an applicant named Emmanuel Pacquiao failed to attend the two-day draft combine and even the draft proper but was excused by the PBA due to the politician having prior commitments.
