Newly acquired Blackwater center Dave Marcelo is feeling a bit awkward with his upcoming first game for his new team.
Reason is he’s about to face his former team, Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel.
Marcelo spent the last 3 seasons with the league’s most popular team and even won a title with them, the 2016 Governors’ Cup.
After being a part of the defending champions, he’s now part of a team that’s out to dethrone them.
While Chris Ellis, the principal player in the mid-conference trade along with Art dela Cruz, won’t see action yet against their former team due to full-body cramps, the 28-year old center out of San Beda College is fit and will get a crack right away at the team that traded them.
Marcelo admitted that he’s having mixed feelings on the encounter.
“Excited na hindi,” Marcelo said with a giggle during an interview with Spin.ph.
“Excited na makakalaban ko sila, tapos yung feeling parang hindi mo ma-explain. Tapos hindi excited kasi parang ang awkward na sila ang kalaban,” he added. – Mae Villarin
