June Mar Fajardo scored on a post play off Greg Slaughter to force overtime then Arwind Santos came through with two big three-pointers in the extra period as San Miguel Beer scored a second straight win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a 104-97 decision over Barangay Ginebra Sunday at the MOA Arena.
With Christian Standhardinger resting a swollen right knee, Renaldo Balkman, Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot were the others that carried the load for the Beermen in a follow-up to their 106-94 victory over the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Wednesday.
The Beermen, thus, improved to 2-3 while the Gin Kings slid deeper down the chart at 1-5.
Standhardinger was confined on the bench as coach Leo Austria opted to rest him for a sore knee incurred in his practices with Stanley Pringle, Troy Rosario and RR Pogoy in preparation for their participation in the coming FIBA 3×3 World Cup at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
