NLEX, in dire need of changes after opening the Commissioner’s Cup with 8 straight losses, pulled the trigger on a 4-team, 7-player trade which also included 3 future draft picks.
The Road Warriors started the ball rolling by sending Garvo Lanete to GlobalPort for JR Quinahan. The Batang Pier then sent Lanete to the Meralco Bolts for Jonathan Grey and a 2017 2nd-round pick which was originally from Mahindra. They followed it up by sending Anthony Semerad and a 2017 1st-round pick to TNT for Larry Fonacier.
Fonacier was then dealt to NLEX along with the Batang Pier’s 2019 2nd-round pick and the 2017 2nd-round pick of Mahindra, the one they got from Meralco, for Sean Anthony and Bradwyn Guinto.
