Expansion team Marikina Shoemasters may have just landed the brightest star to ever play for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
No, he is not a former PBA player.
He is none other than movie and television personality Gerald Anderson.
This latest development was confirmed by Marikina coach Elvis Tolentino through an exclusive interview with FOX Sports PH.
“Gerald Anderson will play for Marikina,” said the former bench tactician of Navotas Clutch.
The 29-year old Anderson is no stranger to the sport, having played for several basketball tournaments in the past. And Tolentino could readily attest to his talent.
“Hindi ko kukunin yan kung hindi magaling. Kung wala sa showbiz yan, malamang player rin yan,” added Tolentino.
Anderson will join a team that will be bannered by former PBA player Warren Ybanez, ex-PCU Dolphin Yves Sason and ex-Caloocan Supremo and Marikina resident Ronald Roy.
