Greg Slaughter to play in the Commissioner’s Cup? Still a possibility says Tim Cone

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel coach Tim Cone said that it would be a bonus for the Kings if Greg Slaughter recovers his full strength and play in the playoffs of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Though the timetable for Slaughter’s return has been scheduled in the early part of the Governors’ Cup, there is a possibility for him to play near the end of the Commissioner’s Cup eliminations or in the playoffs depending on his condition.

Slaughter’s absence created a gaping hole in the middle and that was exploited by San Miguel Beer’s June Mar Fajardo during their Philippine Cup finals.

“I don’t see him coming back until the third conference (Governors’ Cup),” said Cone of the 7-foot Slaughter. “If he comes back earlier, that would be a bonus. Right now, our mindset is third conference.”
