Don’t look now but Imus Bandera may parade not just one but both Paras brothers in the upcoming season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball league (MPBL) which is set to open on June 12.
According to a reliable source who requested anonymity, Bandera coach Jerry Codinera is very much interested in securing the services of both Andre and Kobe, sons of one-time PBA Rookie of the Year/Most Valuable Player awardee Benjie Paras who is a contemporary and a long-time teammate of Codinera on the national team in the ’80s.
“We are on negotiations regarding that. It’s a possibility,” said the source who refused to be named.
Andre, the elder of the two, has already practiced with the team is expected to sign on the dotted line anytime soon with Kobe likely to follow his brother’s lead.
The younger Paras is currently playing in the 2018 Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup for the Gilas Cadets who unfortunately bowed out of playoff contention after dropping their 5th match of the tournament.
Andre, for his part, suited up for AMA Online Education Titans in the recently concluded 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.
