TNT import Donte Greene is bracing for a hetfty penalty following his post-game comment on the referees in the KaTropa’s 112-103 win over powerhouse San Miguel Beer last Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The sweet-shooting American appeared on Monday before league commissioner Chito Narvasa and apologized for his statement as his way of responding to SMB import Charles Rhodes’ “he can’t guard me” post-game talk.

“It was all a joking matter between me and Rhodes, but I understand there are some things you just can say. I didn’t mean to offend the referees that refereed the game on Friday and I apologize to them,” Greene said in a statement.

“I wanna thank the league for understanding where I was coming from and I accept all penalties that come down with it,” he added.

Both imports went to score over 40 points respectively while engaging in a verbal tussle during the course of the game. – FOX Sports Asia
