James Yap refuses to dwell on painful loss to Alaska, focuses on KO match with Blackwater

From a possible Top 2 finish early in the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup, Rain or Shine finds itself on the brink of a stunning elimination following yet another tough loss dealt by Alaska on Wednesday night at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The loss dropped Rain or Shine to a knockout clash with the Blackwater Elite for the eighth and final playoff spot on Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Instead of crying over spilled milk, Rain or Shine veteran James Yap, bothered by flu-like symptoms, stuck to the positives and even urged the Elasto Painters to stay together in what could be another tough test on their collective mettle.

“Kailangan tiwala lang sa isa’t isa. Siyempre kailangan kumbaga solid kami as a team,” said Yap.

“Sana madala namin for the knockout game on Friday. May chance pa naman. Hindi pa naman out. Itong game na to, kalimutan na. Focus na lang sa Blackwater. Ganun lang naman ang basketball.” – FOX Sports Asia
