Japeth Aguilar says game against Star will be the real test for Brgy. Ginebra

PBA Media Bureau

Even without top big man Marc Pingris, Star looks formidable—and dangerous—than ever.

Take that from Barangay Ginebra center Japeth Aguilar, who believes the Gin Kings are in for nothing less than a tough grind against the streaking Hotshots as they renew their Manila Clasico rivalry on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

While the 6-foot-5 Pingris remains on the sidelines as he recuperates from a hip injury, Star continues to strengthen its billing as one of the tournament’s top contenders by winning its first four matches, the latest, a methodical 97-83 win over Mahindra last Wednesday night behind yet another balanced attack.

And that fact is certainly not lost on the 6-foot-9 Aguilar.

“Even though na wala si Ping, maganda pa rin ‘yung nilalaro nila. What more kung andun pa siya?” he said.

“Magiging test talaga sa amin ‘yung game on Sunday. It’s gonna be hard. Classic na naman siguro.” – FOX Sports Asia
