Meralco assistant coach Jimmy Alapag is one proud mentor of youngsters Baser Amer and Chris Newsome who are at the forefront of the Bolts’ rise in the Commissioner’s Cup.

But while the Alapag is happy that Amer is slowly getting the recognition in the past days with his steady all-around play and being heralded as an All-Star, the player-turned-mentor feels for Newsome who was left out in the dark in the annual spectacle.

Alapag didn’t hide his disappointment over Newsome’s non-inclusion, as he even posted a Tweet after learning the non-inclusion of the reigning Rookie of the Year in all the roster of three All-Star squad formed by the league.

“I’m excited for Baser, he’s more than deserving but I still think Newsome should be out there, I dont know how you don’t have the reigning Rookie of the Year not part of any of the three teams,” added Alapag. – FOX Sports Asia
