Jio Jalalon sinks game-winner as Star survives NLEX 105-103

Star Hotshots rookie Jio Jalalon showed what he was made of as he sank a jumper at the buzzer to shoot his team past the NLEX Road Warriors, 105-103, in an Oppo PBA Philippine Cup on Friday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Jalalon finished with 16 points – none bigger than his final shot that came after the teams traded clutch baskets in a fourth quarter dogfight. He also had six rebounds and four assists.

Allein Maliksi led Star with 24 points while import Tony Mitchell bucked a slow start to finish with 23 points and 15 rebounds. PJ Simon added 13 markers in the win.

NLEX’s Wayne Chism had 33 points, 19 rebounds and five assists but only one other player reached double figures for the Road Warriors. –
