Rather than sulk, GlobalPort rookie Jonathan Grey tries to put things into perspective after playing his first game in a neon green uniform on Wednesday since being part of the 4-team trade that took place early this week.
Incidentally, the former St. Benilde gunner played against his former team Meralco, the team that selected him seventh overall in last year’s PBA Rookie Draft.
And Grey didn’t hold back on what’s the glaring difference playing for Meralco and GlobalPort at this point.
“Eh ‘di ano, sayang ang mga bonus,” Grey said with a laugh, moments after GlobalPort shocked league-leader Meralco, 94-86 in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup clash at the Mall of Asia Arena. “Ano pa ba ang panghihinayangan mo doon ‘di ba? ‘Yun lang pero ganoon ang buhay eh, ganoon ang basketball, ganoon ang PBA.”
Knowing that trades are part of life in pro basketball, Grey, this early in his PBA career, has learned to accept it. – FOX Sports Asia
