Disappointed in NLEX’s sixth straight loss to start the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, Yeng Guiao joked about having himself crucified this Holy Week in his native province of Pampanga if that’s the only way to change his team’s sagging campaign.
Guiao can’t help but rue the team’s loss on Wednesday when NLEX failed to display the intestinal fortitude that led to the Road Warriors’ 82-85 loss to GlobalPort in the battle of winless teams in the mid-season conference.
“Actually, kulang na lang magpapako ako sa krus para mag-iba yung fortune namin,” said Guiao, tongue-in-cheek, moments after emerging from NLEX’s dugout.
The Road Warriors dropped to an abysmal 0-6 record in the Commissioner’s Cup as they are the only squad that has yet to register a victory.
NLEX has yet to win a game since January 7. In fact, overall, NLEX has just won twice all season long since Guiao took over from Boyet Fernandez last year. – FOX Sports Asia
