Fresh from winning the 2017-18 ASEAN Basketball League championship, Alab Pilipinas assistant coach Mac Cuan is bringing his act to the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
The former DLSU Green Archer will serve as head coach of expansion team Mandaluyong El Tigre.
This latest development was confirmed by Cuan himself through a telephone interview with FOX Sports PH.
“They talked to me a few days ago, pero in passing lang kasi nga ongoing yung tournament sa ABL and I want to concentrate there muna, but we’ll have our contract signing na,” said Cuan.
Aside from Cuan, Mandaluyong has its sights as well on five Alab players with no less then back-to-back ABL Local MVP Ray Parks headlining the list.
“Si Boss Charlie Dy rin kasi kausap ng Mandaluyong. They wanted five players para buo pa rin sila at anytime na kailanganin sila in any tournament, hindi na mahihirapan yung team,” added Cuan.
Parks, however, is also being heavily courted by a team from Thailand which, according to sources, is offering a monthly salary of $10,000 excluding bonuses.
