Mahindra’s playing coach has finally decided to grace the PBA.
For the first time this season, Manny Pacquiao, the 38-year old boxing icon and Philippine Senator will call the shots for the struggling Floodbuster against the streaking and unbeaten San Miguel Beermen.
Pacquiao, however, won’t suit up to play and instead focus on giving instructions on the bench alongside first assistant coach Chris Gavina.
This will mark the first public appearance of the neophyte senator since agreeing to fight Australian Jeff Horn in his home turf on July 2.
Mahindra is currently on a three-game slide and is sitting in 10th place together with batchmate Blackwater.
While the team is still very much in contention for a playoff spot, the game against the league leading Beermen is a crucial one and is a must-win for the 3-year old franchise. – Mae Villarin
