The Magnolia Hotshots suffered a big blow not only to their 2018 PBA Philippine Cup campaign but also for the entire season as well as veteran forward Marc Pingris has been diagnosed with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
The unfortunate development was confirmed by Magnolia Governor Rene Pardo after a check-up with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. George Canlas.
Pingris sustained the injury, which usually takes 7 to 8 months to completely heal, during the closing minutes of Game 1 of the best-of-seven series between the Hotshots and the NLEX Road Warriors.
The 36-year old native of Pozorrubio Pangasinan is scheduled to undergo surgery next week.
The Hotshots will be looking to equalize the series on Game 2 which happens on Monday, March 12, 7:00pm at the MOA Arena.
