The Meralco Bolts have just boosted its campaign in the ongoing Governors’ Cup with the acquisition of TNT veteran Ranidel de Ocampo.
The 35-year old native of Tanza, Cavite will move over to the Bolts after playing the last 8 seasons for the TNT KaTropa. Meralco will be his 3rd team in the PBA after stints TNT and the now defunct Air21 Express.
TNT started the ball rolling by sending de Ocampo to Phoenix in exchange for Norbert Torres and a 2017 1st round pick, the one it got from San Miguel in a previous trade.
The Fuel Masters then dealt de Ocampo to Meralco in exchange for Justin Chua and the Bolts’ 1st round pick in the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft.
To close the deal, Chua was then shipped to TNT in exchange for a 2nd round pick in the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft.
