PBA Media Bureau

The Meralco Bolts made their mark on Alaska’s erstwhile pristine win-loss record as they held off a fourth quarter comeback to beat the Aces, 99-91, and bounce back in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Meralco, which was recently handed its first defeat of the conference as well, improved to 5-1 while knocking Alaska down a peg to 4-1.

Baser Amer led the Bolts in scoring with 19 points alongside nine rebounds and five assists while import Alex Stepheson tallied 17 points and 26 big rebounds. Jared Dillinger added 15 markers – eight coming in the fourth quarter.

They needed to fight off a late Alaska rally, though, before securing the win. –
