Moala Tautuaa started off his career with GlobalPort on the wrong foot.
The burly 28-year old center was slapped by the PBA with a 1 game suspension on top of a P25,000 fine for kicking TNT import Jeremy Tyler on the chest which was classified by game officials as Flagrant Foul Penalty 2. An additional P10,000 was levied for use of obscene language during the incident.
Tautuaa defended his move saying Tyler held on to his foot while he was airborne.
The incident happened with 2:41 left in the game and TNT comfortably up 118-103. The newly-acquired Batang Pier was earlier whistled for an FFP1.
Aside from Tautuaa, two other GlobalPort players were similarly penalized. Big man Joseph Gabayni and import Malcolm White are both P5,000 poorer for FFP1 infractions.
TNT’s Don Trollano and Blackwater’s Allein Maliksi were likewise fined P5,000 each, both upon review of the league’s technical committee.
