GlobalPort guard Terrence Romeo won their head-to-head battle but Blackwater rookie Mac Belo earned the last laugh in their initial encounter in the pro ranks as the Elite turned back the Batang Pier on Wednesday night 99-91.
Despite struggling with his shots from the field, the 5-foot-11 Romeo led all scorers with 22 points on top of nine assists and eight rebounds in another scintillating all-around performance but he still could not prevent GlobalPort from falling prey to the 6-foot-4 Belo and Blackwater.
“Ngayong nasa PBA na, naging witness ako sa performance niya. Napapa-wow pa rin ako,” Belo, humble as ever, said, trying to give more of the spotlight to Romeo despite his own solid performance of 20 points, six rebounds and two assists that towed the Elite to second overall with a 4-2 mark.
“Patuloy parin akong namamangha sa talent niya,” said Belo of Romeo. – FOX Sports Asia
