NLEX lands Rabeh Al-Hussaini after three-team trade with Meralco, Blackwater

The listless NLEX Road Warriors hope to somehow rejuvenate their campaign by landing center Rabeh Al-Hussaini from the Meralco Bolts in a three-team trade approved by the PBA on Monday.

As sister teams NLEX and Meralco are not allowed to make a direct trade, Blackwater served as a conduit. The Bolts first sent Al-Hussaini to the Elite in exchange for Blackwater’s 2018 second round pick.

Blackwater then shipped Al-Hussaini to NLEX for its original 2017 second round pick that the Road Warriors initially had acquired in the past.

With the trade, Al-Hussaini will be reunited with coach Yeng Guiao who handled the former Ateneo big man at Air 21 during his rookie year in the 2010-2011 season. –
