Staying afloat with meager contribution from import Jeremy Tyler, the TNT KaTropa Texters seemed to do even better playing all-Filipino against the Blackwater Elite.
Ryan Reyes and Troy Rosario scored 18 and 17 points, respectively, leading a balanced game the Texters unraveled to embarrass Blackwater and import Jarrid Famous, 120-101, in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday night.
The Texters now head to the PBA All-Star break with a 4-1 win-loss record. Blackwater is at 0-6, after going 0-3 with sacked coach Leo Isaac and with the same mark with new coach Bong Ramos.
TNT will enjoy a two-week break before plunging back into action on June 1 versus Columbian Dyip with old import Josh Smith already back in the fold.
Even without a reinforcement, the Texters did seemingly everything right and fashioned out their biggest win in the conference thus far.
They hardly missed Tyler who put in an average of measly 12.2 points in four outings with the team.
