The Magnolia Hotshots have moved on from the Curtis Kelly experiment after just one game and is set to bring in Justin Jackson as the team’s new Commissioner’s Cup reinforcement.
The 28-year old Jackson is listed as 6-foot-9 and is said to be a close friend of SMB import Renaldo Balkman.
Jackson, who played for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats in college, last suited up for Rieker KN in Slovakia and submitted averages of 11.7 points and 7.4 rebounds. He also had stops in Finland, Poland, Greece and Israel.
Kelly played his first and only game, which resulted in a loss to the Rain or Shine Elasto Paiters, and had decent numbers of 19 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a block. He, however, had a team-high 5 turnovers and could only convert 3 out of 12 free throw attempts.
The Hotshots hope to bounce back when they take on the winless Blackwater Elite on Wednesday, June 6 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
