After a lengthy and tension-filled deliberation, the PBA Board of Governors have agreed to support the would be decision of Commissioner Chito Narvasa on the controversial trade proposal of KIA and San Miguel.
“Susuportahan nila kung ano man ang decision ni commissioner, all-out support sila, so nagkasundo-sundo,” said PBA Media Bureau head Willie Marcial after the five-hour board meeting in Libis which was attended by all team governors.
KIA governor Bobby Rosales reportedly gave a lengthy talk on the merits of the trade proposal.
Board vice chairman Ramoncito Fernandez of NLEX then called for a private conference with the other team governors after which they came up with a decision to respect and abide by the verdict of Narvasa.
Under the terms of the deal, San Miguel will receive KIA’s 1st round pick in the upcoming draft in exchange for three players who hardly see action – JayR Reyes, Keith Agovida and Rashawn McCarthy.
Narvasa is expected to announce his decision on the proposed trade on Friday or Saturday, just before the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft which is scheduled on Sunday, October 29 at Robinsons Place Manila.
