Imports Eugene Phelps and Greg Smith put up monstrous numbers for their respective teams but it was Phelps’ Phoenix Fuel Masters that came out on top over the Blackwater Elite, 118-116, after two overtimes in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Saturday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Phelps tallied 53 points on 59-percent shooting from the field alongside 21 rebounds and five blocks to outduel his Blackwater counterpart Smith, who finished with 37 points and 30 rebounds in his PBA debut.

The Phoenix import just had more in the crucial endgame, though, as he scored six of his team’s eight points in the second overtime period.

JC Intal added 11 points while Cyrus Baguio and Willy Wilson each chipped in with 10 points for the Fuel Masters, who missed the services of rookie Matthew Wright in this one. – InterAksyon.com
