RR Pogoy and the TNT KaTropa weathered a huge performance from opposing import Greg Smith as they hung on to clinch a 92-89 victory over the Blackwater Elite in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Smith had another huge night for the Elite with 22 points and 31 big rebounds but it was not enough for Blackwater in this one.

Pogoy made sure of that as he scored a game-high 24 points, including a crucial tip-in late in the fourth quarter, to lead his TNT team to a second straight win.

The TNT rookie shot a perfect 9-for-9 on his two-point field goals while going 2-for-5 on three-pointers to lead all scorers, including both imports.

Donte Greene made his PBA debut with 22 points and 13 rebounds although he did need 28 shot attempts to reach his total. Jayson Castro added 13 points while Kelly Williams and Ranidel De Ocampo chipped in with 11 and 10 markers for the winners, who are now at 2-1 in the standings. – InterAksyon.com
