The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters absorbed another stinging defeat at the hands of the ‘lowly’ Columbian franchise, Wednesday night at the MOA Arena.
The loss to the league’s perennial tailender was the 2nd for the Elasto Painters this season.
Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia lamented the fact that his team lost despite their size advantage.
“I told the players inside the dugout na, sayang we have a good lineup, we have the ‘bigs’ who can play inside against Columbian. That was the game plan, to attack them inside. I told the guards that we have to learn to see that,” said an obviously dejected Garcia.
The loss was the first for the Elasto Painters this conference after wins over Alaska, Brgy. Ginebra and NLEX.
Garcia admitted that Columbian is a totally different team already and as such should not be taken lightly by the other teams.
“I’m expecting a lot from Columbian. They’re not the same team like when they came in the league. They have guards who can really score and can create for their shooters. And now they’ve got an import who can defend and be aggressive on the boards.”
