Rain or Shine import Reggie Johnson churned out a game as monstrous as his 240-pound frame in his PBA debut.
Johnson came through with 32 points and 22 rebounds and the Elasto Painters beat out the Alaska Milk Aces, 109-103, in an overtime battle in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Friday night.
The bulky 6-foot-10 ROS reinforcement piled up double-double numbers (20 markers and 10 boards) right in the first half and struck when it mattered in the crunch, thus, negating Antonio Campbell’s own swashbuckling debut in the local pro league.
Cambell came up with 40 points and 20 rebounds for the Aces. He highlighted his own big PBA debut with eight three-pointers.
Numerous ROS locals had their shining moments, including Maverick Ahanmisi, Beau Belga and Chris Tiu who helped defeat the Aces in extension play.
