Ray Parks added another milestone in his fledgling career by bagging the ASEAN Basketball League Local MVP award for the second consecutive year.
The 25-year old son of legendary PBA import Bobby Parks submitted averages of 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists as he, together with the hardworking duo of Renaldo Balkman and Justin Brownlee, steered San Miguel Alab Pilipinas to the championship round despite starting the season with a 0-3 record.
Parks bested Hong Kong’s Lee Ki and Singapore’s Delvin Goh to become only the 2nd player in league history to win the Local MVP honors in consecutive fashion. Singapore Slingers guard Wong Wei Long received the award during the 2014 and 2015-16 seasons.
The 6-foot-3, two-time UAAP MVP is the third Filipino to capture the award after Leo Avenido (2012) and Asi Taulava (2013), both of whom played for the San Miguel Beermen.
