The Meralco Bolts, led by their hulking import Allen Durham, came back from 14 points down before earning a difficult overtime win over the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings, 114-109, in Game 1 of the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup finals on Friday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Durham dominated the opposition with 46 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists as Meralco took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The rest of the Bolts also showed up with Chris Newsome narrowly missing a triple-double with 17 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, and Reynel Hugnatan adding 15 points and eight boards.
