Former Brgy. Ginebra playing coach Robert Jaworski was among those in attendance for Game 4 of the semifinal series between the Gin Kings and defending champion San Miguel Beermen.
The Beermen were coming off a Game 3 loss and were looking to bounce back against a determined Brgy. Ginebra squad aiming to equalize the series at 2 games apiece.
The Gin Kings know that going down 1-3 against a team as tough as San Miguel is almost a death wish as it would almost be close to impossible to rise out of a hole as deep as that.
With the stakes that high, the presence of Jaworski was seen as a much needed boost to the team desperately needing a win.
The Beermen though had other things in mind as they started the game strong and finished even stronger thereby dashing any hopes of a series equalizer by the league’s most popular team.
As expected, Jaworski was disappointed at the outcome of the game.
“Hindi sinasabi iyon eh, ginagawa,” said the former Senator on the team’s never say die battlecry which was apparently missing for that particular game.
“Their focus was not there. I don’t know why. Walang focus e,” Jaworski added.
Aside from the lack of focus, what irked the man dubbed as the ‘Living Legend’ of Philippine basketball was also the team’s glaring lack of effort.
“Well, look. They’re shooting threes, you are not even defending. What will happen ‘di ba?”
Game 5 of the series is scheduled on Saturday, March 17, 6:30pm at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
