After absorbing its first setback of the series, defending champion San Miguel Beermen came into Game 4 looking pretty much like their old selves and as expected bounced back strong and came away with a 102-81 rout of Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel to move within 1 win away from a return trip to the Finals of the PBA Philippine Cup.
The Beermen were on target from long distance all night long connecting on 12 out of their 25 attempts as Marcio Lassiter led 5 others who also finished in double digits.
Lassiter top-scored for the team with 23 points highlighted by 5 out of 10 shooting from 3-point country to go along with 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and a block in 40 minutes of action.
Alex Cabagnot, who was adjudged as Best Player of the Game, flashed his vintage form to the delight of the Beermen fans and finished with 19 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds and a team-high 5 steals.
June Mar Fajardo came through with a double double of 14 points and 13 boards while Arwind Santos chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, who started in place of Chris Ross, gave a good account of himself with 12 points, 6 rebounds and a team-high 10 assists.
The Gin Kings were led once again by Japeth Aguilar who finished with 31 points but no other starter aside from LA Tenorio was able to provide the much needed scoring support.
