Still very much in the thick of title contention for the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, the San Miguel Beermen are already looking forward to defending another title, the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup.
With last season’s import Charles Rhodes still plying his trade in Korea, the Beermen have enlisted 29-year old Troy Gillenwater as the team’s reinforcement for the next conference.
The 6-foot-9 Gillenwater, an alum of New Mexico State, has played in 9 other countries before agreeing to sign up with San Miguel. He is already in the country and has started joining the practice sessions of the Beermen.
Rhodes, the reigning Best Import of the Commissioner’s Cup, is unavailable for the time being since his team in Korea is in contention for a Finals berth.
