San Miguel whips TNT in intense rematch of Commissioner’s Cup finalists

The two teams that played in the finals last conference faced each other for the first time in the 2017 Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup on Wednesday. And again, the San Miguel Beermen came out on top, defeating the TNT KaTropa, 97-91, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

June Mar Fajardo was the top scorer for the Beermen by scoring 27 points, 12 of which came in the final period. He went 11-of-18 from the field, added six rebounds and had five blocked shots.

Wendell McKines had 22 points and nine boards, while Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot chipped in 16 and 15 markers, respectively.

“I really don’t know how we beat them tonight, because we played tentative because of the eagerness of our players. I’m so happy nakuha namin tong panalo against Talk ’N Text,” SMB coach Leo Austria said after the game.

Michael Craig led TNT with a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds. – Sports5
