GlobalPort’s innate familiarity from within showed Wednesday, much to Blackwater’s chagrin.
Sean Anthony flirted with a triple double and led the Batang Pier to a 117-106 triumph over the hard-luck Elite for the former’s second straight win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Anthony finished with 29 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists while masterminding a huge third quarter breakaway that propped GlobalPort to as much as an 18-point spread.
Blackwater managed to muster a charge of its own to threaten within five points, Anthony and Stanley Pringle conspired in a fiery windup that ensured GlobalPort’s follow-up to its 86-85 win over Meralco last Saturday.
Malcolm White did his part with 28 points and eight rebounds before fouling out in the dying seconds and so did Pringle, who had 26 points, six rebounds and seven dimes.
Mo Tautuaa, who sat out the Meralco game due to a suspension, also made up for the absence of Kelly Nabong (back spasms) with 14 points and 10 boards.
