In a stunning development, the PBA’s official Twitter account has tweeted that newly-elected Senator and Mahindra Enforcer head coach Manny Pacquiao will take the place of point guard LA Revilla in the 2016 PBA All-Star Blitz Game which will be held on August 5, 2016 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Revilla suffered a broken nose in practice and is set to undergo surgery.

Pacquiao will be part of the Stalwarts team which will be bannered by 4-time PBA MVP Alvin Patrimonio along with retired PBA players Ronnie Magsanoc, Nic Belasco and Topex Robinson. Current PBA players Chris Banchero, Raymond Almazan and David Semerad are also part of the team.
They will be facing the PBA Greats team led by 1996 PBA MVP Johnny Abbarientos and retired PBA players Noli ‘The Tank’ Locsin, Bong Ravena and Paolo Bugia. Ian Sangalang, Anthony Semerad, Maverick Ahanmisi and Kevin Alas are the active PBA players in the team.
Both teams also include some of the country’s top amateur players such as Mac Belo, Roger Pogoy and Ed Daquioag. – Mae Villarin
