Stats don’t mean a thing for Finals MVP Chris Ross

Chris Ross may have never gotten a lot of photo requests from fans until Sunday night, when he became the man of the hour by leading the San Miguel Beermen to their third straight title in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Ross delighted the pro-San Miguel crowd with his timely defensive plays that sealed the Beermen’s 91-85 victory and the Cignal-PBA Press Corps Finals Most Valuable Player award.

He finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and six steals.

“We just want to end it. And I told the guys to just win each possession. So don’t look at the fourth quarter, the third quarter. From the beginning of the game, let’s win every possession and let’s have each other’s back. And that’s what we did.

“All those stats? They don’t mean a thing to me. The main thing for me is winning. That’s why I’d rather have my teammates score,” he added. – Manila Bulletin
