Tuesday afternoon was an unusual day for GlobalPort’s high-scoring guard Terrence Romeo.
First, he was reporting for practice for the Batang Pier for the first time in a week.
No, Romeo isn’t coming from an extended vacation. But the sweet-shooting GlobalPort gunner is just coming off a bout with typhoid fever, which forced him to miss the team’s Commissioner’s Cup debut against Alaska over the weekend.
“Back to zero yung stamina ko, tapos yung rhythm ko kinukuha ko pa,” Romeo confided to FOX Sports.
Romeo also felt bad since hospitalization forced him to miss the Gilas kick-off training camp last week as well.
“Talagang nalungkot ako na na-miss ko yung practice ng Gilas kasi sobrang gusto ko na makasama sa practice, na-excite na akong makasama sa first practice ni coach Chot (Reyes),” he added, with a tone of regret.
But Romeo said he is excited to rejoin Gilas’ Monday practice next week. – FOX Sports Asia
