Brgy. Ginebra coach Tim Cone is the among the latest victims of the PBA’s “fine” movement.
The league’s winning-est bench tactician was penalized P5,000 for entering the court to pacify Japeth Aguilar who was involved in a verbal tussle with San Miguel forward Gabby Espinas.
Aguilar confronted Espinas after the latter challenged the former’s father to a fight on the court. The incident transpired as Brgy. Ginebra import Justin Brownlee was taking his free throws during the closing seconds of the 3rd Quarter of Game 1 of their Quarterfinal match.
Espinas was fined P2,000 while Aguilar P1,000 for the verbal altercation.
Other players who were fined were Brgy. Ginebra guard Sol Mercado and Star veteran Marc Pingris, both were fined P2,000 each for incurring a technical foul for pointing an accusing finger towards a game official. Lastly, Meralco rookie Mike Tolomia was fined P5,000 for incurring a Flagrant Foul Penalty 1 on fellow neophyte and Gilas cadet Jio Jalalon.
